Have you heard about Ashtanga Yoga but never tried it? Or never heard of it and are you curious to this beautiful traditional active form of yoga? Did you once practiced Hot Yoga or Ashtanga Yoga and would you like to start an active yoga style again? Ashtanga Yoga is a full practice for a healthy body and mind. You work on your physical strength, flexibility and endurance, while gaining mental clarity and focus. But it can be scary to start something new or something that could be challenging! And for that reason I created this gentle introduction to this beautiful and complete style of yoga that is designed to practice long term for a healthy body and mind. In this introduction class we take our time in learning the principals and sequence of Ashtanga Yoga. There is no rush. You get personalized instructions and modifications if necessary. I will explain the concepts during class, so you can experience the effects on your body and mind as we move into the sequence. Every week we do a different part of the Primary Sequence, but we always start with Sun Salutations and end with Savasana (final resting pose). You can also join this class if you practice Ashtanga Yoga regularly, and have some questions or want to learn more about the poses.
